On Sunday, October 26th, the parking lot at Amber Court on the Lake, a proud member of the Amber Court family, was bursting with energy, costumes, and community spirit for our second annual Trunk or Treat for a Cause. We’re still buzzing from the incredible turnout and the fun we shared, all dedicated to a cause that is vital to the entire community: the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
The idea for our Trunk or Treat event began just last year, driven by a desire to combine safe, family-friendly holiday fun with our long-standing commitment to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Even during that first year, we saw a massive turnout, which inspired the team at Amber Court to make this an annual tradition.
This year, however, the response from the Lake Ronkonkoma community was truly overwhelming! We are so grateful that more families, friends, and neighbors than ever before came out to join us. The sight of the massive crowd—all dressed in their spooky best—was a heartwarming reminder of the power of our local community coming together for good.
Our Trunk or Treat for a Cause is designed to be a complete community celebration, offering something fun for every age. This year, we made sure the event was even grander:
While the costumes and candy were a blast, the heart of our Trunk or Treat for a Cause is supporting the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Supporting the Walk to End Alzheimer’s is a long-standing mission for all Amber Court Assisted Living Communities.
The fight against Alzheimer’s disease hits close to home for us. This cruel illness affects so many of our beloved residents and their families, and we see the daily impact it has. That’s why events like this are so crucial: they allow us to raise vital awareness and support for research, care, and family resources to help achieve the goals rooted in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
From the moment the gates opened, the success of this year’s Trunk or Treat for a Cause event was undeniable. It was a perfect blend of community connection, festive fun, and meaningful support.
We are so thankful to every single person—residents, staff, volunteers, local businesses, and especially the families of the Lake Ronkonkoma community—who came out to Amber Court on the Lake. Your presence, your enthusiasm, and your decision to spend your Sunday supporting the Walk to End Alzheimer’s made this year a resounding success. Thank you for showing up in your spooky best and for truly supporting your community! We can’t wait to see you all again next year!
